Alliance Martial Arts Center has truly changed my life. As a woman in her 40s trying out a male-dominated sport, I was initially intimidated, but this center has completely reshaped... Read More my mindset. I used to think I could defend myself, but I quickly learned that self-defense, like any skill, requires dedication and practice. One class is not enough—it’s about consistent effort and following a structured curriculum. What I love most is that advancement here isn’t based on opinion; it’s based on mastering specific skills. If you’re looking for confidence, improved fitness, and a deeper understanding of your body’s capabilities, this is the place to be. Beyond that, I’ve found a community that feels like family, and friendships I never expected. If you’re ready for a life-changing experience, I highly recommend Alliance Martial Arts Center!

Alliance BJJ HQ – A World-Class Experience I joined Alliance HQ in 2022 as a blue belt from another academy, and nothing could’ve prepared me for what came next. During my trial... Read More week, I felt confident—I tapped a few people and thought I’d fit right in. Then I officially signed up… and reality hit. Suddenly, everyone was submitting me. Over and over. I wasn’t tricked—I was humbled. And it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to my jiu-jitsu. Progress here isn’t about quick belts or easy rounds. Promotions are earned, either by winning at major competitions or getting invited to take a belt test that demands everything from you. The bar is high—but that’s why it’s so special. The culture? It’s intense and strangely wholesome. People here will submit you seven times in five minutes and then invite you to grab breakfast. They’ll say “good roll” even after they’ve completely dominated you—but they mean it. There’s no ego, just mutual respect and love for the grind. Professor Leo is something else—an incredible instructor with a sixth sense for where you’re at mentally and technically. He’ll give it to you straight, but also knows exactly how to motivate you. Just when you feel lost, he’ll remind you, “But you know BJJ.” That simple statement has carried me through more tough days than I can count. The 7am crew is relentless—in the best way. Miss a few days? They’ll check in. Prepping for a tournament? They’ll rally around you. Before my last comp, they assigned an upper belt to help sharpen my game for five weeks straight. That support helped me place second and third in open class. But around here, it’s always: “What’s next?” Even when I traveled abroad—like last year in Korea—people knew about Alliance HQ. I mentioned where I train, and right away: “San Pablo pass! 14-time world champs?” It reminded me how globally respected this place is. The new gym? Huge. Classes all day, six days a week, and open mats on Sundays. The mats are always full. People here live and breathe BJJ—not out of obsession, but out of passion. I’ve met 40-year-old purple belts who’ve trained since childhood. They’ll tap everyone in the room but still treat every training partner with humility. At Alliance HQ, it’s hard to tap people out. Promotions take time. But you’ll grow more here—in skill, mindset, and community—than anywhere else. If you’re serious about learning real jiu-jitsu, making lifelong friends, and being part of something bigger than yourself, this is the place. There’s something about Alliance. It’s hard to describe. But once you’re here—you’ll get it.

All the instructors are passionate and teach you well. Corey takes care of your membership related issue very well. Good place to train 👍 Good members too. Welcoming atmosphere.

I have to start by saying that this review pertains only to membership maintenance and billing, not to the trainers at Alliance. In fact, I am extremely grateful for the... Read More introduction to Jiu Jitsu. I've learned a lot, especially from Doug, who is very patient with us beginners. It was a wonderful learning experience for both me and my husband. However, if the owner or manager is reading this, I implore you to hire someone specifically to manage membership and facilitate communication between your members and your billing company. When we signed the contracts, Corey, the main salesperson we spoke with, mentioned that we could pause the membership for a month if our schedule changed. When I needed to pause due to a medical procedure, I was informed that I had to notify him at least a week before the next billing cycle. This was inconvenient as I couldn't manage it myself online; everything had to go through him. I let that slide. A few months later, I had a follow-up procedure and made sure to text Corey early. I received no response or confirmation and was still billed that month. I dismissed it, thinking of it as a contribution to the trainers. The problem intensified after my contract ended. I continued to see charges. When I contacted Corey, he claimed the contract was extended by a month because I had paused it, even though he never confirmed the pause, and I had seen the charges anyway. He said he would look into it but never followed up. Now a few months after our contracts have ended, we've received calls from the billing company threatening to send our account to collections. I've texted Corey again and left voicemails with no response. Having moved out of Georgia, we can't visit the studio in person to locate the right person for escalation. At this point, I am so desperate that I am leaving a Google review in hopes of drawing some attention to this issue. Please apply the discipline you teach in class to other aspects of your business. This situation is ridiculous and nobody should have to endure such issues. I urge the management to immediately address these concerns and implement a more efficient system for handling membership management. Failing to resolve these billing discrepancies not only affects us but also reflects poorly on your otherwise reputable establishment. I am currently considering legal advice to protect our credit, and I hope it won’t be necessary with your prompt attention to this matter. I left a voice mail again just now, please call us back!

I moved from Brazil almost 10 years ago and visited and trained in different gyms in Atlanta. But no one compares with Alliance. The high level training takes my Jujitsu... Joining Alliance Headquarters has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I initially signed up just to stay active and move my body, but what I’ve gained here... Read More is so much more than I could have ever imagined. From day one, I felt welcomed by the professors, coaches, and teammates who are truly passionate about Jiu-Jitsu and about each person who walks through the door. This isn’t just a gym; it’s a family that supports you in every way—on and off the mat. The professors and coaches are not only incredibly knowledgeable and skilled, but they genuinely care about each student’s progress and well-being. They go above and beyond to help you learn, grow, and achieve your personal best. They celebrate every win with you, no matter how big or small, and they are right there to help you overcome any challenges. The camaraderie and support from my teammates is something I’m so grateful for. Training at Alliance has not only improved my physical strength and technique but has also boosted my confidence, resilience, and mindset. I’ve made lifelong friendships and feel so inspired to keep pushing myself every day. If you’re looking for a place that will push you to your limits, help you achieve your goals, and surround you with positive, passionate, and dedicated people, Alliance Headquarters is that place. Thank you to everyone here for building such an amazing, supportive community. I can’t recommend this gym highly enough!

I dropped in to visit noon No Gi with Professor Leo last week and it’s was such a great class! I’ve used the technique he taught several times in rolls... Read More the following days, with lots of success already. Also, Leo stated rules for mat etiquette/ submissions amongst different belt levels before regular training began, which I appreciate the clarity, as a visitor, and if I was their regular student, would also think is so great when we have visitors because everyone is on the same page with the goal to be safe. Plenty of mat space and the members, even the ones who worked standing, had extremely good mat awareness. I train at another gym closer to where I live, but we’re so lucky to have Alliance headquartered in Atlanta. I take strength and conditioning classes, in the area, with several local Alliance competitors, and their gym’s culture of healthy athletes, has positively impacted me and my teammates to also prepare our bodies for the demands of jiu jitsu competition in a sustainable way. Plenty of safe training partners here, lots of female training partners in the class I took even though it was the middle of the day, the mats, facility, and women’s bathroom are clean. They have two shower stalls in the women’s bathroom which is awesome if you have to go back to work after training. The front desk staff was friendly and organized. This is a great place to train if you’re looking for a home gym, definitely check them out!
